T-Mobile officially launched the Xperia Z1S earlier in the year, and for those who picked up the handset, an update is headed to your device, based on owner reports. The reports point to an update to Android 4.4.4 KitKat, which marks the current version of Google’s mobile platform. With it, along with all of the software performance tweaks, comes a new, transparent status bar, along with other tweaks to the status bar. Some minor changes have been made to the Quick Settings option as well. Sony has opted to throw in a new boot animation for those who pay attention to that sort of thing. Also, Sony has added support for the company’s SmartBand SWR10. As of right now, the update is reportedly rolling out over the air, which means it will arrive in waves to Xperia Z1S owners out there in the wild. Or, if you just can’t wait to get some fresh software on your handset, you can head into Settings, then open About Phone and Software updates. Once there, touch System updates, and the device should find an update waiting for you. Did you buy an Xperia Z1S? Have you received the update yet?
