This Saturday, the third-annual SF Cheese Fest will make its way to Social Hall, with this year’s theme of “Melting Together.” (think mingling, music, wine and beer pairings, and the chance to meet the founders behind several California-based cheese companies.)

The business founders, all members of the California Artisan Cheese Guild—the only nonprofit dedicated to supporting local cheese companies in California—will share some of their favorite classic and new offerings. Bay Area cheese pioneers, like Cowgirl Creamery and Point Reyes Farmstead, will be there, in addition to newcomers William Cofield Cheesemakers and Stuyt Dairy Farmstead.

And what would a cheese festival be without the wine and beer pairings? With local favorites like Fort Point Beer, Magnolia Brewing Co., and Belden Barns Wines (plus a dozen more wineries represented) you’ll get to taste—and learn—about the best booze to pair with your Point Reyes’ Original Blue or Nicasio Valley’s Foggy Morning.

This is an evening where you are not only allowed, but also encouraged, to stuff yourself silly. And calories don’t count when the bites of cheese are locally sourced, right? (Read: right.)

// SF Cheese Fest Saturday, September 16th, 6-9pm @ Social Hall SF, 1270 Sutter Street (Little Saigon); Tickets are $84 for access to all cheese tastings, beverages and bites, as well as live music by jazz quartet Rebirth Canal, buy them here.
